We start the new season of living room concerts with a very special and unmissable event: none other than Catherine Graindorge will perform a solo concert in our living room.


Catherine Graindorge is a violinist, violist, composer, and actress based in Brussels. Over the years, she has built her career by blending disciplines, creating theater performances as an author and actress, composing music for her own shows and for others, and playing in various musical formations.

Since 2012 and the release of The Secret of us all, her first solo album, she has collaborated with artists such as Iggy Pop, John Parish (PJ Harvey), Hugo Race (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds), Pascal Humbert and Bertrand Cantat (Detroit), Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Mark Lanegan (Jeffrey Lee Pierce Project)… In May 2023, she released After Heaven, the fourth album of her trio Nile On waX on Tonzonen records.

In September 2023, she received the Octave de la Musique in the category “Solo Artist of the Year”. On April 26, 2024, her third solo album “Songs for The Dead” will be released. Based on the poem “A Dream Record” by Allen Ginsberg, in which he recounts the dream meeting with his deceased friend Joan Burroughs, and the myth of Orpheus who wanted to bring Eurydice back among the living, Catherine weaves an intense musical narrative, caught between shadow and light, anxiety and hope, lyricism and introspection.

We beginnen het nieuwe seizoen van de living room concerts met een wel heel bijzonder en niet te missen evenement: niemand minder dan Catherine Graindorge brengt een solo concert in onze living.


Catherine Graindorge is een violiste, altvioliste, componiste en actrice, gevestigd in Brussel. Door de jaren heen heeft ze haar vak opgebouwd door disciplines te mengen, door theatervoorstellingen te creëren als auteur en actrice, door muziek te componeren voor haar eigen voorstellingen en voor anderen, en door in verschillende muzikale formaties te spelen.

Sinds 2012 en de release van The Secret of us all, haar eerste soloalbum, heeft ze samengewerkt met artiesten zoals Iggy Pop, John Parish (PJ Harvey), Hugo Race (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds), Pascal Humbert en Bertrand Cantat (Detroit), Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Mark Lanegan (Jeffrey Lee Pierce Project)… In mei 2023 bracht ze After Heaven uit, het vierde album van haar trio Nile On waX op Tonzonen records.

In september 2023 ontving ze de Octave de la Musique in de categorie “Soloartiest van het jaar”. Op 26 april 2024 komt haar derde soloalbum “Songs for The Dead” uit. Uitgaande van het gedicht “A Dream Record” van Allen Ginsberg, waarin hij de droomontmoeting met zijn overleden vriendin Joan Burroughs beschrijft, en de mythe van Orpheus die Eurydice terug wilde brengen naar de levenden, weeft Catherine een intens muzikaal verhaal, gevangen tussen schaduw en licht, angst en hoop, lyriek en introspectie.

C’est avec un véritable évènement que nous débutons cette nouvelle saison, Catherine Graindorge et son projet solo prendra place dans notre espace pour un concert unique, à ne pas manquer.

Catherine Graindorge est une violoniste, altiste, compositrice et comédienne basée à Bruxelles. Au fil des années, elle a construit son métier en mélangeant les disciplines, en créant des spectacles de théâtre en tant qu’auteure et comédienne, en composant de la musique pour ses propres spectacles et pour les autres et en jouant dans différentes formations musicales. 

Depuis 2012 et la sortire de The Secret of us all, son premier album solo, elle a multiplié les collaborations avec des artistes tels que Iggy Pop, John Parish (PJHarvey), Hugo Race (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds), Pascal Humbert et Bertrand Cantat (Detroit), Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Mark Lanegan (Jeffrey Lee Pierce Project)….. En mai 2023 sort After Heaven, le 4ème album de son trio Nile On waX sur Tonzonen records.

En septembre 2023 elle reçoit l’Octave de la Musique dans la catégorie «Artste Solo de l’année» Le 26 avril 2024 sort son troisième album solo «Songs for The Dead». Partant du poème »A Dream Record » d’Allen Ginsberg dans lequel il relate la rencontre en rêve de son amie défunte Joan Burroughs, et le mythe d’Orphée qui voulait ramener Eurydice parmi les vivants, Catherine y tisse un récit musical intense, pris entre ombre et lumière, angoisse et espoir, lyrisme et introspection.
