It is such a pleasure to welcome a fantastic musician like Bert Candries to our living room as the final concert of this season, one of the most esteemed bassists and guitarists from Belgium. His rich multicultural experience (jazz, world, Latin, rock, folk, etc.) makes him a versatile and unique musician. For 32 years, Bert has been the loyal right hand of Johan Verminnen and many other artists, including currently Soetkin Baptist and STI.LL. Now, Bert also presents his own Zen adventure, the solo project ‘Two Acoustic Souls in One.’<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let yourself be carried away by famous Heavy Metal songs such as ‘Smoke on the Water,’ ‘Paranoid,’ ‘Send Me an Angel,’ and ‘Jump,’ which Bert transforms into gentle, instrumental Zen versions. Additionally, he also performs a selection of his own pieces, which he calls ‘sfeertjes.’ (‘little atmospheres’)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enjoy the relaxing sound of Bert’s acoustic guitar, supported by a loop station and serene visuals projected onto a screen. Bert takes you on a journey of peace and meditation, sharing anecdotes in his unique way about how his songs came to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
